When to book a Europe trip

The honest answer is earlier than most people think, especially for summer.

For peak summer travel, we generally suggest starting to plan four to six months ahead, and earlier for July and August or for the most popular cities. The reason is supply: the best-located boutique hotels, the rail seats on busy routes, and timed entries for major sites are the first things to sell out. Booking in the winter or early spring tends to give you the widest choice and the calmest planning. Shoulder seasons in spring and early fall are often the sweet spot for weather and crowds, and we are glad to start the conversation well in advance so we can hold space when something is in high demand. If your dates are already close, do not assume it is too late, we will simply build the itinerary around what is genuinely available.
